These two 18 × 18-inch acrylic paintings hold a special place in my story as an artist. They were the first paintings I created in the loose, layered floral style that would eventually become such a recognizable part of my work.
Filled with tangled greenery, wandering dark lines, and imperfect blooms in deep pink and golden yellow, these paintings were where I first began discovering the way I wanted flowers to feel on canvas—not perfectly arranged, but abundant, wild, colorful, and full of movement.
I didn't know when I painted them that they were the beginning of something. Looking back now, I can see the first sparks of the style I would continue developing in so many paintings afterward.
The two canvases were created as companion pieces and are being sold together as an original diptych.
